the brownbread mixtape #8 – This I Believe – Wed Apr 28

the brownbread mixtape is a brilliant FREE monthly gig. each gig has a theme. we invite poets, musicians, comedians and performers. they do a performance related to the theme. we all have loads of fun. simple as that.

the brownbread mixtape #8 is on Wednesday, April 28th at 8.30pm, upstairs in the iconic Stag’s Head pub. the theme for this month’s brownbread mixtape is “This I Believe”

resident MC Kalle Ryan will be in place again to deliver some laugh out loud interludes. resident sound man Enda Roche will be in the corner fiddling with his knobs and offering musical accompaniment.

please join us, as we have yet another wonderful line up of performers, who you would normally have to pay large wedges of cash to see, but for one night only, they come together and perform for art’s sake. for free. for you.

this month’s lineup is now confirmed and includes the following fine folks:

Bill Coleman |

Bill Coleman is a musician from Cork, Ireland. He makes music with guitars, loops, a laptop and a pair of improbably natty red-striped trousers. He released his debut album ‘I’ll Tear My Own Walls Down’ back in 2007. Totally Dublin called it “…the best Irish debut album since Damien Rice’s ‘O'”. Having pretty much run out of that one to sell at gigs, Bill is preparing to release his second album hopefully in October of this year. the brownbread mixtape is thrilled to present one of Ireland’s most interesting and innovative musicians. Get ready for a truly special performance.

“…an edgy cut above the introspective herd… consistently excellent… Don’t let this one pass you by.” – Magill Magazine

Jasmine Lyhagen |

Jasmine is the lead singer of The Bottom Floor Band and hails from the fine country of Sweden. Her arresting vocals and offbeat lyrics will turn your head, bend your ear and open your eyes. She has just returned to Ireland after a brief non-volcanic induced stay in Iceland. The brownbread mixtape is ecstatic to showcase Jasmine in a rare solo performance. Be excited. In fact, be very excited!

CAH-44 |

In an 18-year career as an actor/ writer/ performance poet CAH-44 has appeared in numerous plays, several films and 1 ballet. Touring extensively, his spoken words have been heard in 49 US states and 13 countries. He has been found spitting in mics everywhere from a Laundromat in Ohio to a Spiegeltent in Stockholm. He has appeared at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas (twice), at the inaugural Insomnia Performance Lockdown in Atlanta, GA and you may have seen him performing on The Word Stage at Electric Picnic. His work has also been seen in print in a variety of prestigious publications. the brownbread mixtape is thrilled to welcome CAH-44 and his unique lyrical mind to the stage. Prepare yourself for spoken word straight out of the top drawer!

Ronan Grace

Ronan has been making people laugh for 2 years, but despite being hilarious he refuses to win competitions. He can be seen regularly in the established comedy clubs in Dublin, as well as many others around the country. He is a regular at the Battle of the Axe in Temple Bar and the brownbread mixtape is thrilled to showcase his funny stuff. One to watch, as they say, so come along and do just that! Bring on the funny!

Brand new hilarious skits and sketches as written and performed by our resident brownbread players (Sean McDonagh, Gus McDonagh, Kalle Ryan and Eva Bartley).

As always, there will probably be some nice little SURPRISES along the way.

And a RAFFLE with highy desirable and coveted prizes (incl. the limited edition brownbread mixtape CD)
