To mark the occasion, several of the poets recorded a CD entitled “The Rising Irish” in Enda Roche’s studio in Leixlip and below are some videos of the recording session. A lovely variety of voices and ideas. Mmmm poetry.

crash by sarah maria griffin
Sarah Maria Griffin is 22 years old and hails from the north side suburbs of Dublin. She is presently completing her M.A in Writing in NUIG. She recently had her first collection of poems, “Follies”, published by Lapwing Press and has drawn strong praise from critics and peers alike. She has only been performing in spoken word circles since late 2009, but since then she has performed at many of the most notable literary events around the country. Sarah is a vivacious and spirited new poetic voice and this poem is a terrific snapshot of her inimitable style. She can be seen at this month’s brownbread mixtape on May 25th.
