Join us on Wed, Jan 25th upstairs in the Stag’s Head. the theme for this month is the hugely topical subject of “Money”. Resident MC Kalle Ryan will be in place again to host proceedings humorously. resident sound man Enda Roche will also be in the corner co-hosting and delivering the decibels.

The following brilliant performers will be on the lineup:

MUSIC :

The Dying Seconds

The Dying Seconds are a bombastic, brooding, sweet, and tender six-piece from Dublin, Ireland. Their recent album “Glimmerers” was met with stunning acclaim from critics and musicians alike. Hailed by The National’s Aaron Dessner as ‘the ferocious coming out of a great new band, a stunningly beautiful and ambitious debut album’ The Dying Seconds are set to take the music world by storm. This is a rare opportunity to catch a sneak preview of the band in action before their Crawdaddy headliner the following night and their imminent departure to London. the brownbread mixtape is truly bursting with excitement to welcome The Dying Seconds to the stage. Expect excellence.

“Glimmerers is an excellent record that combines the broodingly intense with the warmly melodic. ” – Daniel Harrison, State.ie

The Lazy Band

The Lazy Band are a collective of the finest trad, roots and folk musicians in this fair city. They get together every Monday evening at 8pm in Bewleys Cafe Theatre on Grafton St, Dublin to play a terrific FREE gig. It’s a lovely little room that they fill with songs of their own and others. It’s loose, it’s lively, it’s lovely. the brownbread mixtape is so happy to have them perform their infectious good time tunes with us.

MUSICAL COMEDY:

Trevor Browne

Trevor first picked up a guitar when he was 2 years old but dropped it immediately as it he was too small to carry it. 22 years later he picked it up again and magic happened. Witness this magic. Witness Trevor Browne; singer-songwriter, sociologist. Greatness now carries a guitar. the brownbread mixtape is really happy to welcome Trevor Browne back to the show. Greatness awaits him and us.“Hilariously aloof” – Hot Press

SPOKEN WORD & WIT:

Shane Langan

Shane Langan is a writer and performer with Dublin comedy team Diet of Worms. In the past he has curated the popular comedy short story night ‘Not Also, But Only’ and is just about to launch the ‘Monthly General Meeting’, a nomadic night of creativity and all things interesting. the brownbread mixtape is thrilled to welcome this brilliant humorist to the stage.

SKETCH COMEDY

The Brownbread Players

One of the most enjoyable parts of the monthly brownbread mixtape show are the original sketches written and performed by our very own Brownbread Players sketch troupe. The troupe is made up of professional actors Gus McDonagh, Eva Bartley and Sean McDonagh, as well as our own chancer Kalle Ryan . All of the sketches are performed in the style of a live radio comedy show (akin to the classic Goon Show), complete with bloopers, giggles and audience interaction. They are consistently hilarious and are often the most popular element of our show. They are absurd, silly, satirical and a super-rapid-deadly-buzz!

OTHER COOL STUFF

Barring any technical hitches, we will be broadcasting LIVE ON D’INTERNET here

We will be having our monthly RAFFLE with highy desirable and coveted prizes

And you can expect lots of surprises and silliness

It would be a pleasure to see you all there!
